Haley Watson, MS, CCC-SLP

Haley is an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist with several years experience in outpatient rehabilitation of pediatric and adult patients. Haley’s areas of speciality include articulation, language, voice, cognition, and dysphagia.

 

Haley’s Training

  • Speech Sound Disorders

    Haley has worked with hundreds of children who present with articulation and phonology disorders including Apraxia of Speech. Haley is training in several approaches including Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing, Van Riper Traditional Approach, Complexity Approach, Cycles Approach, Minimal Pairs, and Multiple Oppositions.

  • Language

    Haley has provided hundreds of hours of therapy remediating expressive and receptive language disorders in children and adult. Haley specializes in pediatric patients with developmental delays or those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also is trained in a number of treatment approaches to provide expressive and receptive language therapy to adults, who may be experiencing deficits due to stroke, traumatic brain injury, or other neurological condition.

  • AAC

    Haley has assisted numerous patients and their families with learning to utilize AAC systems, including no-tech and low-tech options.

    Haley is skilled with the following high-tech options: Proloquo2go, TouchChat, GoTalk, NovaChat, Tobii Dynavox devices, and Lamp.

  • Cognition

    Haley is trained in utilizing a life participation approach to develop functional treatment goals, whether that be sending an e-mail, delivering a presentation, or remembering where your phone is. Adults with traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and several neurological conditions can benefit from cognitive therapy.

  • Dysphagia

    Haley is trained in The McNeil Dysphagia Therapy Program (MDTP). “MDTP is a systematic exercise therapy program for dysphagia in adults. Using the swallow as exercise, MDTP systematically organizes swallowing activities using exercise physiology principles. MDTP is a program – not a single activity nor exercise. MDTP is unique in that it integrates findings from the structured dysphagia assessment directly into the treatment program.”
